This room didn’t really involve any hacking, but I’m just happy that it is finished and I want to brag about it a bit.

Our big kids aren’t here all the time, and as they get bigger and bigger, they’ll be here less and less. We choose to rent this place because of it’s size:affordability ratio. It’s big enough to accommodate the whole family all together at once, but not so big that it’s prohibitively expensive.

We wanted the kids’ bedrooms to feel like regular bedrooms, but also to function as usable space for when they aren’t home. So, we made use of futons and bunk beds. And, Emma has a TV and disco ball in her room.

I think it’s a pretty cool room for a 16 year old girl, but I’m also sure it isn’t. Sometimes the main point of parenting is just to try.
