Here are a few photos highlighting all the work to be done on our new home:

Ugly ‘natural’ wood trim and railings accent the pink walls and dirty blue grey carpet. Also note the dingy popcorn ceilings and grimy beige electrical plates – lovely!

I can live with the unfinished laundry room but that curtain (strung up on a piece of coated wire hung by two push pins) has got to go – as does the blue protective plastic on the washer and dryer.

More of the pink walls, natural wood trim and railings and grimy beige light plates. I actually really like the light fixture, it just needs to be cleaned.

Front balcony. That light fixture has got to go. We’ll be replacing it and the two downstairs with a matching set. Also, the railing desperately needs paint.

More retro. Ugly, dark wood kitchen cabinets, and this picture doesn’t even show the grime. New stove/oven and hood though, so that’s nice.

Yeah, this is sort of standard for the whole house. I bought a steam cleaner, and lots of Simple Green!

Mismatched carpet with some weird zig zag thing going on. Also, notice the built in, plywood valence – standard in all Vancouver Specials.

More dark closet and bedroom doors. Also going to be white with grey trim, plus new handles and knobs.

In case you didn’t get enough of the ugly cabinets in the kitchen, there’s more in the bathroom! Plus, water damaged linoleum!

Backyard has parking for our car plus room for a raised bed garden. The paint job, though, leaves something to be desired.

Driveway needs to be weeded and something planted to hide the trash cans, but otherwise the space is nice and big!

It’s very charming. I am excited to see what a difference you make
congratulations on finding a great space to spruce up!
